Restored 54K Mile 1952 Chevrolet 4400 Dually Flatbed - Frankman Motor Company

This is our 54,000 Mile meticulously restored 1952 Chevrolet 4400 Dually Flatbed with some very rare and interesting powertrain options. All of these body style of Chevy trucks were about the same across all duty levels style wise. Some other makes of trucks had varying appearances as you went up in options payload duty wise, but not for these Chevy's. They are all very "recognizably Chevy". This truck is special not only thanks to the meticulous nut and bolt restoration with great woodwork on the bed, but also due to the powertrain options it was ordered with new. A lot of these trucks were born with a standard 3 or 4 speed low gear transmission for heavy hauling work (this 4400 being rated for a 16,000lbs payload capacity). This made most of them very difficult to drive as they were meant to "get the job done", which to be fair, they did very well. This truck has the optional 3 speed transfercase adjustment that allows you to have gears 1-4 of low range, gears 1-4 of standard city driving, and gears 1-4 of longer travel "highway gears". Meaning most of the time you can leave the transfer case in "2" for city driving and shift through your 4 speed manual gears like you would on any other car, but as soon as you hit the highway, you can shift the transfer case to position "3" and spread those gears farther apart to bring this truck to cruise easily at 55-60mph. Additionally, when duty does call. You can shift that transfer case into position "1" and be able to take off from any inclination with a fully loaded payload without issue. Some very clever engineering to solve some unique problems back in the day. We are big fans!
