[VOA Special] Three Days Is a Lifetime

The Korean War (1950-1953) left more than 10 million people separated from their families. Thousands belonging to the so-called divided families are now living in the U.S. yearning to see their family members, who remained in North Korea after the fighting ended. Difficult relations between the U.S. and North Korea and legal barriers complicated efforts for reunions. But as grassroots activism in support of reuniting the divided Korean American families led to bipartisan legislation in the U.S. Congress, a possible pathway for reunions could open. The documentary tells the story of a handful of divided Korean families living in America and lets them describe their painful separations.
