My goal with this piece was to sonically smear my live guitar playing so at times there was a very limited amount of the natural guitar sound. Then other times the raw, organic guitar sound would be the main focus. I played the guitar thru various loopers and then altered the guitar pedal parameters to create the overall texture of Bethal Island. I entitled this Bethal Island because as a kid I spent a lot of time on that island. I remember hanging out on the dock and listening the water lapping up against the side of the boats. With the different rhythms of the water hitting the boat I tried to create this with multiple looper pedals capturing differing amounts of the guitar. This was done all live with no overdubs... Essentially a guitar thru many pedals.
