For the past 75 years, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) has been the foundational document of international law defining and protecting the basic rights and fundamental freedoms of all human beings. As continuing challenges to human rights persist, from the war in Israel to the war in Ukraine to the Taliban’s control of Afghanistan, the UDHR takes on new relevance at 75.
