Darcey Bussell and Irek Mukhamedov: Bayadere Act I Pas de Action & Variations

Two of the greatest dancers of the 20th century in the beautiful pas de deux and variations from La Bayadere, Act I, Scene 3. Mukhamedov was a nearly perfect partner for Bussell, to the extent his virility and great physical strength not only provided an aesthetic match for her marked femininity, but also made lifts possible, as Darcey was possibly the tallest ballerina of all time, taller than most of her male partners, making lifts challenging for most, and impossible for some. Mukhamedov's strength made this possible for him,however, and the result was some very spectacular dancing.
