The ciudad de los coches (city of horse carts) is an easygoing, slow-paced city; nearly half the population use horses for daily travel (500 licensed horse-drawn carriages). Only about 15% of commuters rely on motorized transport and the rest of the non-pedestrian traffic is bicycle and bicycle taxi.  When we arrived in Bayamo we treated to a horse-drawn carriage ride through the town and neighborhoods, ending near the town square where we were entertained by a local Cuban band with lessons in Salsa and Cha-Cha-Cha before having lunch at a local paladar (private restaurant "Meson La Cuchipapa").  While in Bayamo were were  departing for the Paradisus Río de Oro Resort on the northern coast where we stayed for two nights.
