The Thaumanova Reactor Fractal was brought into Tyria when Ellen Kiel was elected into the Captain's Council of Lions Arch, after Captain Theo Ashford was assassinated by the Aetherblades during the Dragon Bash ceremony in Living World Season 1. Upon election, Ellen Kiel led the investigation into the Thaumanova Reactor disaster, along with Dessa and the Commander, only to find that Scarlet Briar had been behind the meltdown, which is confirmed as you're about to ascend to fight the boss. Aside from the background story, this fractal is not about the lore, but about how to handle the mechanics of the Thaumanova Reactor, and its encounters.
