Brandon discusses 3D printing and the next Industrial Revolution. Having developed a proprietary technique at Texas Tech University, he is part of a project helping to make 3D printed parts stronger and more multi-functional. By strengthening the material for 3D printing and bonding, the process will facilitate the next generation of 3D printed parts with a fully customized range of mechanical, electrical, thermal and optical properties. That, in turn, will open the door to every home and business someday being its own factory. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
