Through this beautiful track Music Today pays tribute to the master vocalist Pandit Rajan Mishra ji on his death anniversary on 25th April. They are part of a 300-year-old lineage of khayal singing of the Banaras gharana. Starting from humble beginnings they went on to conquer the world of music with their talent. They were both accountants in a small shop when they gave a performance in the presence of Satguru Jagjit Singh. The Satguru, realizing their talent, offered to pay double their living wages in exchange for them to put in more time to practice their vocals. The rest, as they say, is history.
