Yes, the Sanctuary is named as Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary. Initially it was known as Kayaler Bagan but later on, it was named after noted scupture Mr. Chintamani Kar. The sanctuary has many species of birds, butterflies, plants, reptiles and Insects. Some wild animals was also spotted here. The sanctuary is situated beside EM Bypass road in the Narendrapur area. How to go: Narendrapur can be reached via local trains from Sealdah South Line. One can also reach Shahid Khudiram Metro Station and from there take an auto to reach CKBS. Best Time to visit: February 2nd or 3rd week. Visit this place in the morning between 7.30 to 8.30 AM. The sanctuary opens at 7AM and closes at 5.00 PM. In winter, it closes early.
