Plenty River Fishing for eels

I went fishing in the Yarra River near Heidelberg in the North East suburbs of Melbourne and my target was EEL. The reason I did this is my neighbour really wanted a feed of eel and convinced me to catch him some. One thing that worked well was using berley made from the soil in my worm farm. This soil, known as castings, smells heavily of worm and that is something eels love. The bait I used was a big European Night crawler worm and I had a simple running sinker rig with a size 4 hook. I hooked a carp first and that will happen a lot because carp also love worms but I also caught a good size eel.
