Hopping into the 2023 Z4 M40i was surely a treat thanks to @bmw @bmwusa. For 2023, changes are very minor though the charismatic B58 engine, rumbly exhaust, and sleek roaster styling remains a highlight. While the Z4 remains the less aggressively tuned option compared to its cousin, the Supra, it still is loads of fun. And at around $65,300, it’s a unique roadster offering in a nearly dead segment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: Under the hood of the Z4 M40i continues to be the glorious B58 3.0L Turbo 6 making 382HP and 369 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The only gearbox is a quick shifting 8-Speed ZF unit, sending power to the rear. 0-60 happens around 3.8sec. 🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Highs: -The powertrain is the star of this car! From the incredible exhaust, heaps of power, and lively rear end, the Z4 will never give you a boring experience. -Even with the top up, noise and wind in the cabin is relatively low, allowing you to hear the exhaust burbles and converse with your 1 passenger. Lows: -The styling, even with a refreshed bumper, isn’t as dynamic as a Supra, as sporty as Cayman, or as exotic as a Corvette, though it is aging well for me! -A manual option would’ve been nice as the Supra offers it and the handling is noticeably on the softer side within the sporty spectrum. -While the interior is build incredibly well with many premium materials, it features BMW’s last generation switchgear & tech.
