What does a tent room at the Kirawira Tent Camp in the Western Serengeti really look like? This location is a 2 1/2 drive on very bad dirt roads from the Central Serengeti accommodation. This luxurious tent camp does actually consists entirely of tents that have modern furnishings inside them. Glamping is the term to describe staying at a tent camp. And this place is indeed glamorous tent lodging. BEWARE there are also plenty of insects everywhere including under pillows. Also you need escorts to go to your tent in the dark. The tents are neither heated nor cooled. Our tent was hot during the daytime and perfect at night. Also as with all Serena establishments, the location is ideal, the view from your porch wonderful, but the tent camp is not handicap accessible. This is a great place to experience the nearby animals at their best during the game drives.
