No One Is Talking About THIS! DUNE Cinematography

While watching the latest Dune trailers, I noticed that some scenes appear to be filmed in Infrared! However it doesn't seem like there are many conversations about the use of infrared imaging for Dune, this video aims to start a conversation about this topic and the reasons why Greig Fraser, the DOP on Dune: Part Two, would want to use this type of imagery. Is he using it to tell a certain part of the story in a certain way, or just looking for a new way to present a image to an audience? Or am I just completely missing the picture? Dune: Part Two comes out in cinemas early March 2024 and I can't wait to see this film in IMAX! In this video we discuss, the director of photography Grieg Fraser, who's very well known for his work on The Batman 2022, Rouge One 2016 and more! Along with my reasons as to why I think they used this type of imagery for Dune and a little bit about what Infrared is.
