👋 Elise is a Junior Board Member, softball player, childhood cancer advocate, and OsteoWarrior. Elise was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at age eight, and underwent Rotationplasty to remove the bone tumor. 👩‍⚕️Dana Farber Cancer Center describes the procedure, “Rotationplasty is one of several types of surgical procedures that can be used to treat malignant bone tumors, such as osteosarcoma, that occur near a child’s knee. This procedure preserves the lower leg, attaches it to the thighbone, then uses the ankle as a knee joint.” 💛Elise shares what many OsteoWarriors know too well- while the amputation or limb difference is the most visible evidence of the cancer, the toxic 40+ year-old treatments were the hardest. ✨Elise is making it better.
