Modeling 3D Printable BOLTS and NUTS design in Designspark Mechanical - DSM Narrated Tutorial #15 Rough calculation ( for Thread Pitch at least 1.5mm ) Crest Width = 0.2mm , Root Width = 0.4mm Flank Length= Pitch - 0.6mm Note : how the crest and root applied in this design is different from normal thread design, in order to give proper allowance for the print. please refer to video for detail In this design, I'm using 2mm pitch, therefore : Crest Width = 0.2mm, Root Width = 0.4mm Flank Length = 2 - (0.6) = 1.4mm This rough formula gives enough allowance and acceptable play for me. It works well with 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. But considering slicing and printer variation, I suggest you to make a test print and adjust as needed. And if you have another working formula, please let me know :) Link to download DSM : https://www.rs-online.com/designspark... Yes, there are many mistakes in my grammar and limited (technical and non technical) vocabularies, please don't hesitate to correct me. And if you have any suggestion about what to design, please let me know in the comment. Thank you for watching, and have a great day :)
