I shot this with a Super 8mm film camera in the summer and fall of 1973, as as Saint John embarked on a major remake of its Uptown business district. Manchester Robertson Allison (MRA) was closing its doors after 107 years in business. Numerous other businesses were displaced with an entire city block slated for demolition, to make way for the construction of Brunswick Square retail mall, a Delta Hotel and an office tower. This film was recently digitized so it can be viewed by a larger audience. Enjoy this brief return to the 1970s in New Brunswick, Canada!
