Animal Sanctuary Caregiver Day Celebration

The Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) recently celebrated our own Barbara Lebl during The Animal Sanctuary Caregiver Day celebrations! Barbara was born and raised in Germany. She began spending time at her grandparents’ farm helping with chores and animal care. At an early age she discovered a passion to care for animals of all kinds. She had her own animal care business and had her own barn for ten years along with being a horse owner for twenty years. Barbara also has a holistic animal care background along with ten years of working closely with a veterinarian. As Animal Care Director, she starts her mornings by going through each barn and assessing every animal regarding their nutritional needs, medical issues, body condition and more. This creates the daily plan, which can change at a moment’s notice with our aging residents. She also does regular training with our OGR staff and explains how to utilize the skills she’s teaching which stems from her history of teaching children and young adults for six years in VA. #truesanctuary #animalsanctuary #animalrescue #horserescue #equine #SanctuaryCaregiverDay
