POCUS: 1st Trimester Pregnancy - Case 5 - Complex adnexal mass

Utilization of ultrasound is critical when evaluating pregnant patients that present with pain or vaginal bleeding in the first trimester. In this particular case the patient expects to be about 7 weeks pregnant but developed acute onset of pelvic pain. She appeared uncomfortable and had blood pressure of 105/68. She was otherwise healthy and was NOT taking any medications to assist in reproduction. In the video we will see she had a complex right adnexal mass that with large amount of pelvic free fluid. These are very concerning findings in a pregnant patient and could represent a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.
