Solo Backpacking Mount Whitney | August 2023

I backpacked for 3 days to Mount Whitney from August 13th to 15th, 2023. Day 1 was on Saturday, August 13th. I started from Whitney Portal and hiked to Trail Camp, then reached the summit on Saturday, August 14th. Breaking up the hike over three days was enjoyable, and having Saturday afternoon to adjust to the altitude proved to be beneficial. I set out from Trail Camp at 4 am on Sunday and reached the summit around 10 am. I stayed at Trail Camp due to the forecasted storm. I left Trail Camp on Monday around 7 AM and reached the portal at 11 AM. Standing atop Mount Whitney offers a breathtaking panorama that stretches as far as the eye can see, featuring rugged mountain ranges and pristine alpine lakes. It was one of the best backpacking trips I have ever done so far.
