Lyme disease does not always present with one definitive rash. In fact, the deer tick is responsible for many different presentations of rashes. In medicine, there are many variations of presentations of zoonotic illness. The more one is aware of the various presentations the quicker one can present for labs and treatment. Lyme disease, as with other tick-bourne illnesses, should not be delayed for medical intervention. The quicker the antibiotic treatment is implemented one decreases long term side effects. Rashes, joint pain, and fatigue are a few of the symptoms you should be aware of. If you have a story of a tick bite or know someone who does, please feel free to share.
