Partitioning A DSC NEO Alarm System

In todays video Hayden shows and explains the process of partitioning the DSC NEO HS2032 alarm system. Partitioning a security system allows you to create multiple independent "mini-systems" all connected to one main unit. Partitioning can work well for those who have a secondary building on their property, or even those that want different parts of their home or business separated into smaller systems. Most will most likely never need this feature, but for those that do, it can be a confusing process to figure out. To partition an alarm system, first the partition you are trying to add must be enabled on the system. Following that you can then manually move each device you want o the additional partition so they begin acting as their own mini-system. The steps provided in this video show how to create a second partition and move sensors and keypads over to the new partition. You dont have to stop there though, the DSC NEO system is capable of operating up to 8 total partitions on a single system, so if you can find a need for more than 2 partitions these steps will help you understand what needs done. For those that are still learning about alarm systems in general, know this is a higher-level functionality of the DSC NEO, and for most residential and small businesses partitioning will most likely not apply to you.
