Transcription of Eric Dolphy's solo on Oliver Nelson's "The Drive". So far this has been the only up tempo solo of Eric Dolphy that I can hope one day to be able to play. So far I think I am 50% done, estimating how long it is going to take to clean up the fast passages. On the other hand it is already a great fun to play like this and I wish I could play other solos like this ("the way you look tonight" live in Copenhagen: now that would be a real bucket list item!    • Видео  ) This A section is in C major (I-IV-III-VI-II-V), and even the B section after a II-V-I in F goes through another C turnaround (but with different tonal centers for each II-V), but I am sure you can analyze this much better than I do, the score is not difficult to find on the internet.
