In this video, Akila shares her experience with alternative approaches to Autism Akila Vaidyanathan is a Parent to Nishant, age 24, who has Autism. She is the founder and Director of The AMAZE Charitable Trust an NGO focused on helping families navigate the disability maze through skill training programs and capacity building. She also organizes adventure camps for persons with disabilities. She is also a Master trainer, Facilitator for number of Workshops and Training programs in the area of Disability Education and Management across the country. She is also a Facilitator and Counselor at Antara - ‘The Space Within’ which she founded with her husband Sriram and works towards parent and caregiver wellbeing, parenting skills training and helping individuals and organizations experience their potential and discover their mission. She is also the recipient of the award -EXCEPTIONAL WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE given by the Women Economic Forum, in January 2020. She was also awarded the REAL HERO AWARD by Rotary district 3201 , in January 2019 and Golden Woman Award by Jewel One, Coimbatore, March 2018.She is also a trained Psychologist and special educator.
