Now for the first time in 64 years, the film legend's seven-room Manhattan residence is up for sale for nearly $6 million. Garbo, one of Hollywood's biggest stars in the 1920s and 30s, lived in the co-op overlooking East River from 1954 until she died in 1990 aged 84. The apartment is being sold by the family of Gray Reisfield, Garbo's niece and sole heir to the actress's estate. Reisfield and her husband lived in the apartment from about 1992 to 2013 before relocating to San Francisco. The Swedish-born star's apartment has been listed for $5.95 million with Halstead brokers William A. Kerr, Brian Lewis and William Kerr. The agents say the sprawling three bedroom, three bath apartment is mostly how Garbo left it.
