Super Mario RPG - Barrel Volcano - Synth Cover (Renoise, Synth 1, Yamaha MX49, Nils' Kawai K1v)

We've been having 110+ degree heat for the past couple of days here in sunny California, so I thought a lava-themed VGM would be appropriate! Super Mario RPG might not be the most in depth or difficult RPG ever, but it really is fun! And it was a very unique mashup introducing cool new characters and unique locations. It also, of course, has great music! I hope you like my version of this cool song! I also thought it could be cool to show what I did on Renoise for this one, even though it may not be the prettiest visual representation of what's going on. For this one I used the "Mute Bass" patch on the K1v with a lot of fx and played over it with the MX49 for the bass. The K1v also is used for the marimba/vibraphone sounds, which is a big part of the song, and it has that really 90's Super Nintendo sound I wanted. Spitfire LABS did some of the guitar work and then I played over that with the MX49, as well. The "synth sounds" are all from Daichi's Synth 1 or the trusty Microfreak. TAL Noisemaker does the "big pad" sound in the beginning and middle. Beatskillz Synthwave drums and grooove bpb plugin for drums sequenced in Renoise Tracker. All software sequenced in Renoise Tracker by MT, recorded and mixed in Audacity for Windows. All hardware synths played by MT, recorded and mixed in Audacity for Windows. No midi rips, soundfonts, etc. Original song composed by Yoko Shimomura. Video footage from Longplay Archive.
