The original Final Fantasy VII soundtrack has a lot of nostalgia for me despite not having played it in my childhood really. When it came to the Remake, however, I felt a little mixed with certain musical moments really standing out fantastically, but a lot of the ambient and ongoing soundtrack not really catching my ear as much. This piece is wonderful though, and it really is quite magical. It was very satisfying to work with the gorgeous chords and floaty melody and synth pattern, fitting them to acoustic instruments and introducing my own synth recording. I'd like to think the timbre of the acoustic ensemble in this arrangement also express the mellowness and etherealness that I hear in the original. And speaking of, thanks a bunch to my collaborators for playing those instruments here!
