Pukas La Cote Surfboard Review

Ian reviews the Pukas La Côte surfboard: https://www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/pu... Introducing the Pukas La Cote surfboard; a jaw dropping mid-length from the legendary surfer/shaper Axel Lorentz. Axel's La Cote was born from a need to shape a board for his daughter. He wanted a board which would enable them to surf together in any conditions. The result is a manoeuvrable mid-length which is at it's best when surfed from the tail but will also perform with a more relaxed neutral stance in mellower waves. With a broad appeal, the La Cote could easily find a home with pretty much any surfer; from lightweight female to a heavyweight average surfer. Styled and driven by an experienced surfer the La Cote is really responsive and turns on a dime when required. The outline is definitely "eggy", with the tail pulled in a bit more than the nose. The wide point sits directly under the chest so paddling and wave catching are fast and early respectively. The fin cluster includes a single fin box + 4 x FCS II plugs leaving you with plenty of set-up options. Some of the boys at Boardshop have trialled an early demo with a set of quads which they loved, and I had a great waist-high session with my go-to 2 + 1 arrangement. The Pukas La Cote would make the perfect mid-length for a decent shortboarder looking for something different in his quiver, and sized correctly is a great option for the improving surfer looking for a capable board to start knitting some turns together and refining their style. Mid-length or fun-board, it really doesn't matter what name you hang on it, the La Cote is all about having fun, styling and getting every last drop of enjoyment from your session. You can of course order a customised version of this board choosing your own preferred dims, fin set up and system (check out our 'Custom Board Builder' on the Boardshop home page). All you need to do is pump in the details and pay a £100 deposit with the balance due when we send you the board, average build time is 6-8 weeks. We aim to trial every board we stock so why not give us a ring on (44) 01243 674250 or drop us an email for some 'hands-on' feedback.
