Generally, a duped item will have a much lower value than its original counterpart. The idea behind a "duped shovel" is that it'd theoretically be the least desirable item in the entire game. After all, who would use the stock shovel, much less one that was duped? My friend Orna thought this was funny, and wanted to buy one just for the sake of having one. However, when he started asking around on a trade server, the admins were giving him a hard time. As they said, "nobody would actually sell you a duped shovel." Hearing this, my friends and I decided to join the server and have a little fun.
