Arriving in the Lower East Side in 1964, the Wong family’s story sheds light on the long history of Chinese immigration to the United States, and how changing immigration laws impacted the Chinese-American population. On this virtual tour, we explore the tenement apartment where Mrs. Wong raised her four children and the factory spaces where Chinese immigrant women revitalized the garment industry and labor movement in New York City.
