I was given this defective lithium jump starter by a local chap called Andy for analysis. Then I decided to REALLY test it. I also had an incident at my bench while the camera was off where the negative plates of an opened cell spontaneously erupted in flames and smoke. They may have been made more reactive by the high electron charge they had, or it was just a reaction with the air. There's very little actual lithium in these cells, just a coating of lithium metal oxide.
