I was recently thinking about how it felt like so many singers were starting to pop up in movies and tv shows as of late i.e Harry Styles showing up in both Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman (even the Marvel universe too) or Taylor Swift making an appearance in Amsterdam. It’s definitely not a new concept since singers like Britney Spears have followed a similar side route (i.e her movie Crossroads) but it definitely feels like the trend is picking up again despite most of the general public (and fans themselves) not being totally sold on the performances they've seen so far. So considering how many examples there are I thought it’d be a fun idea to watch/rewatch some new and old movies that involved famous singers to see what the famous singer to dookie actor pipeline really looks like and trust me when i say there is RANGE. Everything from appreciated hits like Lady Gaga's role in A Star is Born to the absolute fever dream of a 90's movie starring Vanilla Ice appropriately named Cool as Ice (oml) to whatever we want to acknowledge Cats (2019) as. Obviously there's no shortage of material so I thought it’d be easier to focus on a few recent moments as well as some older ones that felt so ridiculous that i couldn’t help but bring up but I'm curious to know which ones I missed that you guys think are worth checking out (be it because they're so good or so bad lol).
