Mr Solo Too Great Race 2017 Onboard Footage

This year Mr. Solo Too had a rough week leading up to the Trinidad and Tobago Great Race. They got their new engines in from the states a couple weeks before got them in and tested the Thursday before Great Race. That test run ended terribly with one of the new engines bellowing smoke. They then scrambled to get one of their much smaller engines in to test on Friday and has some issues then as well. On the morning of the race they made it out to the start line where they then couldn't get one of the engines started. After missing the start they then had to play catch up in the gulf and managed to pass their main competitor Iron Man just before Gasparee Island and they held the lead from there onwards passing all of the 60mph boats going up the North Coast as those boats had an earlier start time. One of the onboard cameras decided it wanted to do a time-lapse instead of record video and the mount on one of the others shifted so here is the most interesting footage from what I had to work with. There was no official Great Race movie this year due to lack of sponsorship and available helicopters but hopefully next year things will be different for the 50th Anniversary.
