The "best ending" of Dracula X involves skipping only the Minotaur boss in level 4, and progressing to alternate level 5. It is distinct from the Worst and Bad Endings in that you rescue both Maria and Anette, and you fight Death at the end of level 6 instead of Camilla. It was the Death fight that I (fittingly) considered to be the biggest obstacle for a no-death run in my first playthroughs of this game; however, I eventually realized that strategic use of item crashes can help immensely in phase 2, making the fight consistently beatable. That being said, Death is still a big enough problem that I do not feel comfortable going for a no-damage of this route - apologies for any disappointment. Overall, I think this is the best of all routes, since it feels more "complete" and has a conventionally happy ending. It's also by far the most difficult. Alternate 5 is roughly as hard as 5, but the boss is harder than the Werewolf (in my opinion) and more random. Death is also significantly more difficult than Camilla. Done on emulator, snes9x.
