Check out my comics here: https://linktr.ee/augustcomic Like a lot of comic fans, I was blown away by Batman: The Animated Series when it came out in the 90's, and became a big fan of Bruce Timm. He gets a lot of well deserved credit for his streamlined, classic style- a style that's widely imitated even today. But having collected his all too rare comic book work over the years, I think his sequential work doesn't get nearly enough attention. Not having to worry about making sure drawings can be easily translated by other artists and overseas animation studios, when drawing comics Timm is free to let loose and add flourishes that wouldn't work in cartoons- and it brings his already amazing work to another level! In this video I take a look at some high res Timm artwork, revisit his influences, and reflect on how Bruce Timm's comic art has evolved and influenced the comics industry!
