Today's daily update video is from Deelfontein in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa on the 23rd of July 2023. We drove out to Deelfontein. Its convenient water supply for steam engines led to its initial development as a railway servicing centre, and it is now the site of a passing loop on the single-track route. It wasn't until 1900 that the Imperial Yeomanry Hospital, a military field hospital for the British army, was built to care for wounded soldiers from the Second Boer War.
