This film won 13 international awards in 1984. It was one of the first of its kind in Asia and has neither been matched nor beaten. Singapore made subsequent tourism films but none were as successful as this film. Its success was based on FIlmwest taking the hard line by insisting on no narration and a voyeuristic camera approach.
