The first cobbled classic of the season, the Women’s Omloop Het Nieuwsblad marks the beginning of the Spring Classics in the bike racing calendar.. The course takes in some of the most savage bergs of Flanders and follows a similar route to the men with the iconic finale over the Muur van Geraardsbergen and the Bosberg before a drag to the finish in Ninove. It’s a true Belgian Classic, with cobbles, steep hills and the possibility of bad weather, which means that only the strongest riders can win. World Champion Annemiek Van Vlueten leads a strong Mitchelton-Scott team but they will be up against the best that Canyon//SRAM, CCC, Boels-Dolmans & the rest of the peloton can throw at them.
