Found a fallen spruce tree (Picea abies) so I took the opportunity to make a bark container. I´ve made this container several times before with different species of bark. The bark was still stuck to the wood quite hard. Later on it will be easier to pull off the wood. I usually pick a piece of bark with less holes in it (from small branches) but this was the best section of bark I could find on this fallen spruce. The spruce resin makes a sufficient seal if the holes or cracks arent to big. I had the water boiling for about ½ hour with 12 rocks. You can have it boil even longer if you reheat the rocks you used. Spruce bark will get stiff and brittle when dry and needs to be moisturized before use. Hope you will enjoy?
