Israel reportedly used massive payload bombs provided by the US to attack Al-Mawasi, in one of the bloodiest strike in Gaza. The bombing of the "safe zone" turned the tent city into a charred wasteland, overwhelming nearby hospitals with casualties. According to the health ministry in the Hamas-run territory, the barrage killed at least 92 people and wounded over 300. The Israeli military said that it targeted two "masterminds" of the October 7 attacks by Hamas that triggered the war.
