*OBSOLETE 4.35* Falcon BMS BARCAP Tutorial Part II: How to fight BVR

**Track While Scan no longer works well to guide AIM-120 missiles against maneuvering targets in 4.37. Use RWS “Situation Awareness Mode: Dual Target” instead. How to win decisively against MiG23 and MiG29A in BVR engagements. Part II contains the engagement with talk-thru, and a short tacview analysis. The goal is to press and keep pressing, forcing inferior bandits to turn and drag without ever having to turn cold yourself, if you can help it. In the first fight the MiGs use an offensive split but my radar picks them up in time to fire with a predicted m-pole of 12 miles. I crank left, but as a result, almost lose the right-hand bandit before pitbull on that missile. Luckily I stopped cranking in time and although disoriented, by sheer chance I maintained lock until pitbull on both missiles- this can be seen in the hud just before I abort. Their split tactic limited my ability to crank/ increase distance between myself and the left-hand bandit at pitbull. Luckily they were only MiG23s with no ECM jammers. In the second fight, one MiG29 sneaks off and goes trail and I assume the one contact I see on my FCR is actually 2 bandits close together. I fire on the leader only to then see his wingman pop up on radar - far beyond a lethal shot from me. I fire on the trailer defensively and continue to press forcing the leader to snip his missile, eventually finishing off both bandits. Forgot to drop my fuel tanks and was slow to Fox-2 the lone survivor because of that. If these were MiG29S variants with ECM jammers, I would have had to abort cold from their active radar homing missiles, but in this case I was safe to press. 00:00 Cockpit setup, 1st hot leg 03:48 Turn cold leg 05:10 Bandits threaten AOR while I'm cold 05:49 Gameplan engagement 06:35 Engage MiG23s 08:22 Poor radar management and abort to safety 12:18 MiG29As pop up 13:35 MiGs do a grinder and I try to keep up 14:50 Pressing and keeping them defensive until a near merge, Fox-2, defend/ defeat his missile Part I:    • Falcon BMS BARCAP Tutorial Part I: Ho...   RESOURCES: The Vault by Tee Square The Mother Of All BMS Equipment Cliff Notes: http://www.56thvfw.org/forum/showthre...
