What is MUN ( Model United Nation )? Terms and Procedure ( in Hindi ) | MUN Tutorial | #MUNkiBaat - 2 Don't know anything about MUN? Want to attend a conference? We got it sorted for you. ______________________________ Concepts in MUN ROLL CALL Say “Present and voting” if you’re voting Say “Present” if you’re abstaining to vote ( though you can choose whether to vote or not at the end ) MOTION TO SET THE AGENDA Set the topic GENERAL SPEAKER’S LIST (GSL) It's your Opening Speech. Here delegates are given the opportunity to state the stances of their countries regarding the particular topic/agenda at discussion. You can talk about what your country has done or plan of actions it has with respect to the agenda. POINT OF INFORMATION (POI) When you want to ask another delegate a question, you raise POIs and after the Executive Board (EB) recognizes it, you can ask the delegate any question as long as it relates to the topic or what the delegate said in his/her speeches. But do keep in mind to keep the POI short and precise. REQUEST TO FOLLOW UP A point that can be raised immediately after you asked a question. It essentially means that you have a follow-up question that you would like to ask. Some delegates take this opportunity to ask a completely different question however that is not the case. If you raise a request to follow up, you make sure that your follow-up question is related to the original question you asked in your POI. RIGHT OF REPLY If a delegate has infringed your country’s sovereignty or has done a grave insult to your country/any representative authority of your country. POINT OF PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY This is basically where you have a doubt or a question with regard to the procedure of the conference or you have a question with regard to what’s going to happen next or what will happen in the evening or any question with the committee's proceedings for that matter. POINT OF PERSONAL PRIVILAGE A point with regard to your personal comfort. You can ask to go outside, increase the air conditioner because it's too cold, or ask a delegate to speak louder because they are not audible. MODERATED CAUCUS A branch topic/sub-topic that is submitted to the house which holds relevance to the main agenda of discussion. It is a sub-topic that could contribute to the debate and discussion of the topic under consideration. POIs are usually suspended during this motion. There can only be speeches on the Moderated Caucus sessions. UNMODERATED CAUCUS (Break/Lobbying period) Where all the delegates sign off for a formal break wherein all the delegates split into different groups and they come up with different resolutions which align with their country’s policies and foreign interest. This is where resolutions are made and following this you move into resolution debate. This is the time period where you influence the committee and show your leadership. PAPER WORKS (WORKING PAPER/ PRESS RELEASE/ COMMUNIQUE/ RESOLUTION) Usually you will have 2 or 3 paperworks that come out from an unmoderated caucuses (Type of paperwork depends on what EB wants). You have speeches for your respective paperworks of the block and your work is to to defend the points of your paper work. MOTION TO INTRODUCE THE PAPERWORK OBTAIN THE FLOOR ENTERTAIN SPEECHES FOR AND AGAINST PAPERWORK(S) Regarding voting of Working Papers or Resolutions, you can be for, against, or abstain (if you have voted only "Present" during roll call). It all depends on your country’s interest and how it aligns with your country’s foreign policy. MOTION TO END THE SESSION A formal way to dismiss the session ______________________________ 📍 REGISTER FOR MY FREE MUN RESOURCES: 🤩👇 https://bit.ly/lifecallsguy-freeresou... ______________________________ TIME STAMPS - 00:00 - INTRODUCTION 01:38 - ROLL CALL 02:52 - MOTION TO SET THE AGENDA 03:40 - GENERAL SPEAKER'S LIST ( GSL ) 04:21 - POINT OF INFORMATION 04:51 - REQUEST TO FOLLOW UP 05:15 - RIGHT OF REPLY 05:44 - POINT OF PARLIAMENTARY ENQUIRY 06:08 - POINT OF PERSONAL PRIVILEGE 06:33 - MODERATED CAUCUS 07:29 - UNMODERATED CAUCUS 08:21 - RESOLUTION 10:14 - DISMISSAL OF THE SESSION 10:24 - TABLE CLAPS & CONCLUSION _____________________________ IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN AN INTERNATIONAL MUN, REGISTER NOW ( Entry Charge - ₹700 / $9 ) - https://www.internationalmun.org/Regi... ____________________________ MUN Ki Baat FULL SERIES ( PLAYLIST LINK ) -    • Model United Nation ( MUN )  -  MUNki...   Model United Nations - Advanced (Playlist) -    • Model United Nations - Advanced   ____________________________ #mun internationalmun #muninhindi #imun #modelunitednation CONTACT US : Instagram - https://instagram.com/udit_bhattachar...
