מעברות הירדן, הוא המקום שבו עברו בני ישראל את הירדן ונכנסו לארץ ישראל בימי יהושע בן נון ביום י' בניסן. המעבר של העם היה כרוך בנס של עצירת הירדן כנאמר: יהושע ג, טו-יז: טו - "וּכְבוֹא נֹשְׂאֵי הָאָרוֹן, עַד-הַיַּרְדֵּן, וְרַגְלֵי הַכֹּהֲנִים נֹשְׂאֵי הָאָרוֹן, נִטְבְּלוּ בִּקְצֵה הַמָּיִם; וְהַיַּרְדֵּן, מָלֵא עַל-כָּל-גְּדוֹתָיו, כֹּל, יְמֵי קָצִיר." טז - "וַיַּעַמְדוּ הַמַּיִם הַיֹּרְדִים מִלְמַעְלָה קָמוּ נֵד-אֶחָד, הַרְחֵק מְאֹד באדם מֵאָדָם הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר מִצַּד צָרְתָן, וְהַיֹּרְדִים עַל יָם הָעֲרָבָה יָם-הַמֶּלַח, תַּמּוּ נִכְרָתוּ; וְהָעָם עָבְרוּ, נֶגֶד יְרִיחוֹ." יז - "וַיַּעַמְדוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים נֹשְׂאֵי הָאָרוֹן בְּרִית-יְהוָה בֶּחָרָבָה, בְּתוֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּן--הָכֵן; וְכָל-יִשְׂרָאֵל, עֹבְרִים בֶּחָרָבָה, עַד אֲשֶׁר-תַּמּוּ כָּל-הַגּוֹי, לַעֲבֹר אֶת-הַיַּרְדֵּן." ביום י' בניסן – יום הכניסה של עם ישראל לארץ ישראל, זכינו מזה מספר שנים לקיים טקס מרשים ורב-משתתפים באתר מעברות הירדן, וסיורים מרתקים ביריחו, באזור יריחו ובבקעת הירדן, המציינים את המשמעות ההיסטורית החשובה של מעמד זה ומקום זה לעם ישראל. אנו גורסים שיום י' בניסן הוא מועד היסטורי ייחודי, המצוין במקרא, בספר יהושע, בצורה מפורשת, ועל כן, ראוי להפכו למסורת, כיום ציון חגיגי וחשוב לעם ישראל ולהתמיד בו. ביום שלישי ראש חודש ניסן, 09/04/2024, חגגנו (מוקדם מהתאריך האמיתי) את חציית הירדן אל הארץ. קיימנו תפילה שחרית חגיגית של ראש חודש באתר מעברות הירדן. קיימנו סיורים באזור ויום עיון ביישוב בית חגלה. ובאחר הצהרים, קיימנו את הטקס המסורתי באתר מעברות הירדן ברוב עם. אלבום תמונות של האירוע: https://photos.app.goo.gl/sP6XQa864ym... --------------------------------------- One of the great events in Joshua’s conquest of the Land was the miracle at the crossing of the Jordan River, when the river dried up ten kilometres upstream, and the People of Israel crossed on dry land from the Plains of Moab on the east side of the Jordan to the Plains of Jericho on the west side (Joshua 3:16). From there, the People of Israel went on to conquer Jericho, after setting-up camp in the Gilgal, which is at the heart of the Plains of Jericho, just east of the yet unconquered city of Jericho. The crossing of the Jordan took place on the 10th of the month of Nissan, one month and three days after Moses spoke his last to the People of Israel in the Plains of Moab, on the east side of the Jordan opposite Jericho, and from there ascended Mt Nebo (above the Plains of Moab) and departed from this world (Deuteronomy 31:1-13 and 33:1 - 34:12). The date of Moses's death was on the 7th of the month of Adar (Babylonian Talmud: Tractates Megilah p13b, and Kiddushin p38a). On Tues. the 1st Nissan, 9th April 2024, we celebrated (before the actual anniversary date) the crossing of the Jordan into the Land with a festive Rosh Hodesh morning prayer at the site of the Jordan Crossing. We then held tours of the area and a seminar in Beit Hogla. This was followed by the traditional celebration on the site of the Jordan Crossing, in the afternoon, as in previous years.
