Strange New Worlds Intro with Odyssey-refit Enterprise-F (Star Trek Online)

A Demorecord Machinima project that took a few months to complete. Not just because of the Demorecord footage and video editing required for the variety of scenes involved, but mainly the time spent scouting suitable in-game locations for each scene. SNW Main Title Theme by Jeff Russo:    • Jeff Russo - Star Trek: Strange New W...   SNW Theme Violin Cover by @VioDanceMusic:    • Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Main ...   SNW Theme Metal Cover by @CaptainMeatshieldUK was heavily considered for this fanvid project but did not make it into the final cut. Nevertheless, I highly encourage everyone to check out the fanwork of a fellow STO player:    • Strange New Worlds [Star Trek] // Met...   Behind-the-scenes commentary: • Yes, there are by now several dozens of remakes/reinterpretations of the Strange New Worlds Intro sequence out there, and that’s before counting the very recent official Lower Decks version of it. Nevertheless, I really wanted to have my own go at it, and hopefully not many of them feature the Ent-F nor this mashup of the SNW Main Theme. • Should already be obvious from the video, but this is specifically based on Season 1 of SNW's opening sequence. Season 2's opening had a number of scenes that I deemed too technically demanding for me to replicate within STO. • My right brain has been entertaining the thought of remaking the SNW Intro Sequence within STO ever since I first saw it. The existence of the "Where No One Has Gone Before" speech by Captain Va'Kel Shon of the Enterprise-F and Odyssey ship textures remaster pushed my left brain to get real work done on it. • Why did I go with the Yorktown-class instead of the original Odyssey-class? I just prefer the proportions of the Yorktown over the Odyssey, no other reason beyond that really. Even with the recent in-game model update to the Odyssey, and Season 3 of Picard. • Having just said that, I don't actually own the Yorktown-class (nor the Legendary Verity-class) in the game. All footage was shot with the Lexington-class sporting Yorktown parts. • All in-game locations used for each scene are mentioned in the video itself, except for the Vulcan System used for the very first scene. Earth Spacedock’s Drydocks were the initial candidate for that scene, but ended up being too well-lit, as weird as that sounds. • Va'Kel Shon's "Where No One Has Gone Before" speech sourced from this vid on the official @StarTrekOnlineGame channel:    • The Continuing Adventures of the Ente...   • And then separated from the background music using this web AI tool: https://vocalremover.org/ • Some of the footage here were upscaled via AI, due to the extreme zoom employed during editing. I don’t have Topaz, so I used this limited free tool instead: https://www.capcut.com/magic-tools/up... • DiscoPicard Reshade preset by @captainwallisfx5143 a.k.a. u/thewallis84: https://www.nexusmods.com/startrekonl... • Engine trails FX removal mod by Brex2: https://www.nexusmods.com/startrekonl... • Kelvin Timeline Warp Out and Transwarp Sound mod by myself: https://www.nexusmods.com/startrekonl... • Additional Sound FX sourced from Star Trek (2009), Star Trek: Into Darkness, TrekCore, and Descent: Freespace 2. • Video editing software used: DaVinci Resolve (of which I have greatly abused its Light Rays FX for nearly half the scenes in this vid).
