Bayonetta - Speedrun 1h37m53s (New Game, Any% Normal, no IFG) [Jeanne] (Disclaimer in description)

Disclaimer: (update 11/19/2021) speedrun.com Bayonetta mods created new rules for the category (to ensure the speedup glitch doesn't happen), and this run was moved to the legacy category, so it can't be considered "WR" officially (although if trying to measure the gameplay performance only, it would still have a big chance to be, if compared to the official runs as of 11/19/2021). There's a bug that can affect the game by making it run much faster, giving the runner an unfair advantage. It was discovered shortly after making this particular 1:37:53 run, by comparing it to AceKrana's 1:35:42 run, using specific "autoscroller" segments for comparison. The bug happens if the game has been played for very long without rebooting. A new rule for Bayonetta speedrunning has been introduced since then, which requires you to display the intro as a way of proving that you've just started the game and therefore won't be affected by the glitch. This run doesn't follow the rule because it didn't exist at the time, however, so far, no speed abnormalities could be found in it (i was rebooting the game regularly between resets, which might had helped), so for now it's considered valid. If that changes, i will update this description and will personally advocate for its removal from the leaderboards. If you want to verify this or any other runs but don't know how to, leave a comment asking about it. Update: Apparently any run can develop the glitch throughout the course of it, usually it happens during chapter 14, the game starts running at 61 fps rather than 60. This run's Sapientia finisher completes a bit faster than in the runs following the new rule, however all previous and subsequent comparisons line up with them perfectly. This suggests that i had the fps increase a bit earlier than it was supposed to happen (but not earlier than at Lustitia). This may have led to an unfair gain of 20 seconds or so, so i'm fine with the run being taken out from the leaderboards, however at the moment they also have two 1:39 runs that are affected in a major way (63 fps throughout most of the runs), it's up for the community to decide what to do with this situation. Still not perfect, but will do for now. Bad chapter 1 Fortitudo, failed the Applaud fast kill in the end of chapter 2, mediocre Fearless fights in chapter 3, awful start of chapter 5, chapter 6 shopping was a mess, and bad chapter 15 (i mistakenly thought that redless Lustitia is consistent, and learned the truth the hard way). The rest was ok. Especially happy that managed to pull off a new Sapientia strat which is quite difficult and still rng-based. Document with strats is here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-...
