Mt Antero - Climb to the top via the west slopes, with maps & route description

My ascent of southern Sawatch 14er Mt. Antero on June 21, 2021 along the west slopes route, including maps & route description. This mtn. is clearly visible from the Arkansas River Valley, and lies to the south of both Mt. Princeton and Chalk Creek Canyon. I was treated to plenty of wide open, cloud-blanketed high mtn. vistas on this occasion, and have tried to capture some of it here. This was my 3rd time on this mtn. As usual, I have included maps & route description, and also some historical information about the mtn. and its environs - including the fact that this mountain is perhaps best-known as a rich source of gems. For my video of climbing neighboring Mt. Princeton:    • Mt  Princeton - Full summit climb via...  . For my hike up into the striking Chalk Cliffs nearby:    • The Chalk Cliffs, in the CO. Collegia...  . For my walk along the Narrow Gauge Trail through part of Chalk Creek Canyon:    • Narrow Gauge Trail - A scenic stroll ...  . Enjoy the views!!
