For this exercise I chose everyone's favorite, the Daisy. I first lightly sketch out a square and divide it into four smaller squares by drawing a horizontal and vertical line through the center. I then draw a circle on the inside of the square followed by a smaller one, about a third the size and draw it in the center of the larger circle. Then I being to add shading and details to the daisy and sketch petals around the outside edge of the largest circle that finish on or slightly past the outside edge. Once I'm happy with the general layout I begin to apply shading with the outside of the pencil. I block in darkest tones, mid tones and lightest tones but I gradually build up the mid and dark tones throughout the drawing process. I finish off by drawing and shading the stem.
