Here are some examples of indigenous war clubs and other weapons that are very effective and made with a great degree of skill, without metalworking. The idea of a wooden club, axe or sword might seem backwards to some people, but there are plenty of ingenious designs from all over the world. Maori, Samoan and Melanesian war clubs are intricately shaped and could deliver quite devastating blows. The Aztec Macahuitl may not be as sturdy and durable as a steel blade but it is extremely sharp and packs quite a punch. There are also neolithic flint daggers and even swords which archeologists have found in Denmark. Very impressive displays of flintknapping skills.
