Sure, the neighborhoods of the city are still experiencing extreme poverty and violent crime, but Downtown has made huge economic strides since the turn of the century. Downtown offers many entertainment options for families and for adults. Things have turned around in Downtown Detroit so much, that we're now even starting to see new skyscrapers get built. You also don't see the same amount of homeless people roaming the streets as you do in other large major cities.
