Mansfield Park ; The Anti-Heroine

Mansfield Park was Jane Austen’s third published novel, printed in 1814. Austen began writing this at 36. There was a 12 year gap between this and her last novel. And I think the change in her writing style and maturity is dramatically evident. Mansfield Park show us a nexus of historical movements and currents that changed what our world looks like today. There is so much that can be examined that I haven’t even touched on. And the more one looks, the more one realizes how much there is to dissect in this novel. It’s a masterpiece.
